2010 was a great year!

2010 was an Amazing year for the Lietzau’s. I thank God for allowing us to see and feel him more than I ever have. This year was full of ups and downs. It was in the downs that I saw the Lord Move mountains and out of it bring Joy. The biggest blessings this year came in adopting our sweet daughter. I’m so thankful for him for grabbing the pen from my hands and checking not only minor heart defect but major or congenital defect as well. I know it was him and certainly not us. We walked blindly the whole time not realizing what we were going to face. If I had only known that he was going to take a precious little girl and save her life for many to see and understand that only he could do it. Never under estimate the power of Christ. He CAN move mountains and does. No one ever wants to walk though a scary situation like this but we are so thankful we did. I giggle when the doctors tell me they are still amazed she is alive and doing so well. I giggle because I understand it is by the grace of God. I know we still have a long road ahead of us with her condition. Some days I’m scared and revert back to my self and then I realize once again that it is not about me it’s all about Him. Job 12:10 "In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind." He has Hannah in the palm of his hands and I need not worry. I’m constantly growing in this area :) He has grown a passion in me for the weak and I want to do all that I can to serve him faithfully.

I’m so thankful for Jason’s job when there were so many layoffs and down sizing going on all around us this last year. I’m also thankful for the joy of staying home with my blessings and homeschooling them. I’m thankful for friends and family that loved and prayed on us and walked this journey right beside us. you all mean so much to us. We hope you have a wonderful 2011.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We had a great day celebrating Jason's birthday. For breakfast anytime we have a birthday around here the request is always the same. Cinnamon muffins. So this morning I got up and made just that. Jonah got up before the other two blessings so he got to have a special breakfast in bed with daddy. We hung out and made some room in the bedroom for daddy's new flat screen television. My mom and dad took us all out for dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. He had a relaxing day, I'm so thankful for his life and the blessing he is to all of us. He is such an amazing father and husband. God gave me a true gift.

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.

These are a few of my favorite things

The last couple of days have been rainy and cold . We have made the most of it by playing indoors. The kids have enjoyed some nerf gun fights and plenty of Wii. Noah is going to have a hard time going back to a Friday and Saturday only schedule for the Wii. I'am ready to get back to school and have some structure around here. My kids behavior and attitudes are so much better when there is structure and lets just say they are ready for it :) I'am sad that December is almost over. There are so many traditional things we do during this month that I just love. What is your favorite family tradition you have done with your family? Leave me a comment I would love to hear them. My favorite is going to Christmas eve service and then coming home and reading the Christmas Story. Then we give the kids three gifts that they open together symbolizing the three gifts Jesus received from the wisemen. It is usually something spiritual, practical, and fun.

Disney On Ice

We had a very relaxing day today. CHOC hospital has continually blessed us this year. They think of our family often and were so kind to give our family tickets to go see Disney On Ice. The Boys were excited but not sure what to expect. I was nervous because it was during Hannah's nap time. It ended up being a great time for all. Hannah did great and waved at all the characters. After the show we came back home and let the kids have some fun playing with there new gifts. I'm still having fun playing with my new Canon camera and can't wait to upload pictures. I was too nervous to take it to the show so these pics are of my old point and shoot. Hope you all had a very relaxing sunday.

I have decided to change our blog. We have documented our adoption Journey to Hannah over the last two years over at www.youbelong.net/lietzau and now I wanted to document our daily lives focusing on the many ways the Lord continues to bless us. I don't ever want to forget or miss the ways he is working in our lives. So if you don't mind a little rambling and some misspelled words follow along and count your blessings with us.

Count Your Blessings

When upon life's billows
You are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged,
Thinking all is lost
Count your many blessings,
Name them one by one
And it will surprise you
What the Lord has done.

Chorus:
Count your blessings,
Name them one by one
Count your blessings,
See what God has done
Count your blessings,
Name them one by one
Count your many blessings,
See what God has done.

Are you ever burdened
With a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy
You are called to bear?
Count your many blessings,
Ev'ry doubt will fly
And you will be singing

When you look at others
With their lands and gold
Think that Christ has promised
You His wealth untold
Count your many blessings,
Money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven,
Nor your home on high.

So, amid the conflict,
Whether great or small
Do not be discouraged,
God is over all
Count your many blessings,
Angels will attend
Help and comfort give you
To your journey's end.
