Celebrating the big 5

It has been so much fun celebrating our sweet Jonah's fifth Birthday. Yesterday we had a fun day doing things Jonah likes, cinnamon muffins, lunch at Chik-Fil-A and Pizza dinner with grandma and papa. Today daddy took a half day and surprised him with a trip to the movies just the two of them. We had a family party tonight and tomorrow is Lego Land. I will post pictures soon. I can't believe he is five. I pray he always keep that smile on his face and the ability to make others laugh. he is such a joy and I feel so blessed to be his mommy.

A Beautiful Week

I really enjoyed soaking in the beauty of the Resurrection story with my kids this week. We spent a lot of time in the word, reflecting and doing activities all having to do with the Easter story. Our church also held two special services this week. We had a Maundy Thursday service and Good Friday Service. After the Good Friday service Noah leaned over and said Mom I really feel Jesus in my heart tonight. I love that boy and how much he is growing in the Lord. Nothing warms my heart more. We had a full day of celebrating Easter with both sides of the family. Lots of food, fun and LOVE. It was an end to a beautiful day. Thank you Jesus for loving us so well and for paying the ultimate sacrifice for our behalf.

Recap From Our Trip

I have been recovering from our busy trip last week and things have not stopped since we have been home. I think I need a vacation to recover from my vacation Ha! Well N.Y. was fun and very interesting. I guess people probably say the same thing about L.A. I was so excited to see everything. We took the train from D.C. to N.Y. and it was a nice 31/2 hour relaxing ride. When we got off at Penn station I was overwhelmed. So many unique people swarming the streets. Jason said his favorite part of the trip was seeing my face when we walked off the train. It took me a few days to adjust. I think in the few days we were in N.Y. we probably walked a hundred miles. My legs were so sore. I Loved seeing Rockefeller center, Central Park, ground zero and eating amazing food. I was so happy to get the opportunity to join Jason. He travels so much and we don't usually get the opportunity to join him so it was great.

Yesterday we had the hardest day yet with Hannah. She was acting whiny and acting out and wanting to be held every two min and then let down and nothing could make her happy. It was hard on me emotionally and physically. Then today she was back to her normal self. It is so hard to figure out sometimes. She is getting a molar, we just got back from a trip, she was tired, we moved her into a new bed, is it adoption related? All these things go through my mind and when they are two they can't tell you so it's even harder. I was thankful to have a do over today and lay all things at Jesus's feet. We have been enjoying going through the easter story with our children. It was emotional for me today as we read how Jesus washed his disciples feet and to think how humbling of an act that was. What a beautiful picture of Christs love for us. I'm so thankful for the gift and sacrifice he gave.

Enjoying D.C.

We have been enjoying our time in D.C.. Hannah did amazing on the flight. Dr. Chang wanted her to have oxygen on the plane as a precautionary. I thought she was going to battle us the whole time. She did not enjoy it but kept it on the entire time. She fell asleep right before we took off and we thought what a perfect child this is going to be the easiest flight :) well 20 minutes in and she woke up crying. I knew that was too good to be true. Ha! I think her ears hurt. After something to drink and blues clues she was a happy girl again. We got in pretty late so she crashed and slept the whole night through yeah!. The next day we were up and ready to explore. I really wanted to see the white house so we got on the subway and began to explore. We found out that they were giving tours of the White House Gardens and that it only happens two weekends out of the year. Woo! Hoo! It was Beautiful. We had a really great time. we also saw the Washington Monument where they were holding a kite festival. I thought of our boys the whole time and how much they would have enjoyed it. We really want to come back with them sometime. It has been really nice though being able to give Hannah so much of our attention. She has been the happiest little thing however not a day has gone by where she hasn't asked for her brothers. This morning we visited our adoption agency in Virginia. Everyone was so nice. They gave us a tour and gave Hannah a sweet stuffed bear. It was so great being at a place that makes so many families dreams come true including ours. What an amazing agency. Thanks AWAA. We spent the rest of the day back in D.C. where we visited the Capital and the Botanical Gardens. Tomorrow we take the train to N.Y. It has been so relaxing and fun to experience so many new things.

Big Girl Bed!

We got Hannah's new bed put together tonight. We said good bye to the crib and gave it to a good home. Hannah looks so tiny in her new bed. I love the way her room turned out. I was afraid to go with white but it looks so feminine and pretty what do you think? She also got a big girl back pack or pack pack as she calls it Ha! Every time I take the boys to school, I tell them to grab their back packs and she always asks for hers. It came just in time for our upcoming NY trip.

NewYork NewYork

Hannah and I get to join Jason on a work conference in NY next week. I'm very excited. We are planning on taking the train to DC and visiting our adoption Agency in Virginia and spending the rest of the time in Time Square. I feel like such a goofy tourist because I just want to see everything. Any blogger friends live in the area? I'm excited to meet up with friends that we traveled with in China when we got Hannah.

Hannah had another wonderful doctors visit on Saturday. He has decided to take her off of lasix. This momma could not be happier. This is the diuretic that causes her too fill her diaper after we give it to her. I was worried about potty training while on this medication. Yeah! she is getting her big girl bed tomorrow and after that transition we can start potty training. Woo! Hoo! The Lord has been so gracious. Hannah is just thriving and we know it is because of his great love. We serve an awesome God who lavishes us with his great love.

Grandpa Great Turns 93

Friday was Grandpa Greats 93 birthday. We started calling him this when Noah was little and said it backwards and it has just stuck. Friday morning the kids made special cards. We stopped to get some doughnuts and took the cards to Grandpa Great's house. Grandpa was excited to see the kids. They ate doughnuts, went lizard hunting and played trains. That night we got sitters for the kids and the family went to a nice dinner to celebrate his 93 years of life. It amazes me the life this man has lived. He came from a small poor town in Minnesota. Came to California in his late teens and built a buisiness that is now run by his sons. He has slowed down a little but at 93 still gets on his knees to play with his great grandchildren who he adores. Before Hannah was here he once told me as he got all choked up, I only hope I'm around to see my great granddaughter. Well he got his wish and has been able to love on her for a whole year now. We all look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with Grandpa Great.
